A view of Yoshi's Island from the overworld map
Yoshi's Island was an island situated in the Cheap Cheap Ocean and the home of The Yoshi Tribe. During his infancy, Mario fell on the island after Kamek attacked the stork that was delivering him and Luigi. There a young Yoshi Chief and the rest of the Yoshi tribe assisted Mario in rescuing his twin brother from Kamek's clutches.
The island was later destroyed by Turbo Mecha Sonic utilizing his Semi-Super form near the end of episode 6, Brawl on a Vanishing Island.
The Yoshis of the island are peace-loving, sharing, and friendly. However, after the appearance of the Axem Rangers X they became hostile, preparing an ambush in which an unsuspecting Professor E. Gadd took the bait.
The island's key features were its three mountains, which stood high above the rest of its topography. However over the course of the battle between the heroes, Axem Rangers X and the Koopa Bros., they were destroyed, shortly followed by the island itself. The island also had several tall cliffs, and thick forests where a number of battles took place. The Yoshi Tribe also had a golden statue of a Yoshi, upon which they placed their 'Magic Gem', later revealed to be a Chaos Emerald.
