Waluigi is a resident of the Mushroom Kingdom, and is a recurring antagonist of Super Mario Bros. Z. His goal is to help Wario steal the Chaos Emeralds and sell them for money.
Biography[]
Appearance[]
Waluigi is a tall, lanky young man with short light-brown hair. He has a large, pink nose, a thin black mustache that's pointed up at its ends. He also has a sharp jaw and a very long and pointy chin. His clothing, like Wario, bears a resemblance to the Mario Bros.' He wears a long-sleeved purple shirt under a set of dark-indigo overalls, a pair of pointed orange shoes, and a purple cap with a vertically mirrored yellow "L" printed on it.
Personality[]
Waluigi is boastful and short-tempered. He doesn't appear to get along well with anyone aside from Wario, with him being an openly rude and mean-spirited troublemaker. He is prone to unsportsmanlike behavior, oftentimes taunting others and cheering for himself while becoming angry at the progress of his opponents. However, despite often acting overconfident, he is also characterized with great self-pity. He is quick to point out his disadvantages and will attribute his losses to his opponent's cheating, while hypocritically taking pride in his own cheating. Like Wario, he also has a greedy streak, shown in his excitement at the monetary value the Chaos Emeralds might hold.
History[]
Metallix Saga[]

Waluigi helped Wario rise through the ranks in the Mushroom Kingdom Smash Tournament, to the final fight with Mario. During the fight, Wario used an Assist Trophy, pulling Waluigi into the battle. The two of them attacked Mario, combining Fire Waluigi and Wario's Gas Attack to devastating effects. However, Mario withstood it due to the powers of a Starman. An infuriated Wario picked Waluigi as a baseball bat while Luigi joined the fight as well. Before the fight could finish, Bowser attacked the stadium with a Bulky Bob-omb, sending both Waluigi and Wario flying out of the stadium.

Later, he and Wario snooped on the heroes as they planned their search for the Chaos Emeralds. A plan was made to wait until the group found an Emerald then unleash a surprise attack to steal the prize and profit from the jewels. Waluigi waited in the Wario Car while Wario found the White Chaos Emerald, and helped them escape from Luigi and Yoshi, although Luigi still managed to grab the bumper. Waluigi was able to kick him off the car. However, Yoshi caught Luigi and the pair continued to pursue them with the assistance of a Dash Pepper. Waluigi began throwing Bob-ombs at the two in an attempt to impede them.

Despite Waluigi's best efforts at trying to hit the duo with Bob-ombs, Luigi was able to send one of them back at the car with his Hammer. The Wario Car was destroyed in the ensuing explosion, forcing the thieves to run. However, Waluigi and Wario were forced to stop when they reached the edge of a cliff, allowing Luigi and Yoshi to corner them. Yoshi grabbed the Emerald with his tongue, and a brawl began among them. The skirmish was interrupted when a pair of missiles hit the cliff, sending Wario and Waluigi flying off.
Powers and Abilities[]
Waluigi is talented at a variety of sports, most dominantly tennis - because of this, he often wields a large tennis racket to beat his enemies with. He has very strong legs, specializing in kicking and stomping attacks. He also appears to be malleable in an excessively cartoonish manner, such as when he was used as a baseball bat by Wario. Waluigi also appears to be skilled in using Bob-ombs, shown in The New Threat when he throws a seemingly endless amount of them at Luigi and Yoshi.
Waluigi is able to utilize Fire Flowers, transforming into Fire Waluigi. However, he cannot use its pyrokinetic abilities as effectively as Mario and was only ever seen throwing small fireballs.

Upon using a Fire Flower, Waluigi's change from purple and black to white and purple, respectively. He gains the ability to conjure fireballs.

Wario[]
While Waluigi and Wario often bicker, their relationship overall seems to be a positive one, with them sharing good chemistry and often teaming up in sports events and spinoff titles. They make an effective pair and can work together for devastating team attacks. The two share many aspects of their personalities and even looks, although the exact relationship between Wario and Waluigi is somewhat ambiguous. It has been confirmed by Nintendo that they are not brothers (despite their title as the "Wario Bros."), and they may just be two criminals who are not related at all.

Luigi[]
Waluigi hates Luigi, and the two are bitter rivals. Waluigi resents that Luigi is more liked than he is, envying his popularity and wishing to defeat him and Mario in order to take their place and become liked and respected himself. Rumor has it Waluigi is also jealous of Luigi's relationship with Princess Daisy and has a crush on the princess. Waluigi's entire shtick is based on making fun of Luigi's character, from his overly lanky appearance to his lack of physical strength. Luigi does not fully understand Waluigi, but still dislikes him for his underhanded ways.[1]
Mario[]
While not to the same extend as Wario, Waluigi is on bad terms with Mario. He is always willing to work with Wario to either take Mario down or humiliate him in any competition.
Yoshi[]
Much like Mario and his friends, Waluigi is on bad terms with Yoshi. After being chased by Luigi and Yoshi up to a cliff of the Grass Land, Waluigi and Wario ended up squabbling with the two over the White Chaos Emerald.
