1-Up Mushroom[]

Overview[]
The 1-Up Mushroom is a green mushroom with white spots and eyes. When used, it will instantly revive any fallen fighter.
Appearances in Super Mario Bros. Z[]
A 1-Up Mushroom was first used by Luigi to revive an unconscious Mario while Bowser was distracted by the loss of his Metal form. By doing this, Mario was instantly on his feet, to Bowser's surprise.

- The 1-Up Mushroom first appeared in Super Mario Bros.
- The 1-Up Mushroom likely serves as the series' analogue to the Senzu Beans of the Dragon Ball franchise, mainly possessing rejuvenation properties instead of serving its purpose in the Mario franchise as an extra life.
Assist Trophy[]

Overview[]
The Assist Trophy is a small, clear capsule with a gold base. When used, it can summon a certain fighter. In Wario's case, it was used to summon Waluigi from the bleachers.
Appearances in Super Mario Bros. Z[]
An Assist Trophy was first used by Wario in retaliation for Mario shoving a Home-Run Bat in his mouth. The Assist Trophy teleported Waluigi from the stands onto the arena, much to the Wario Bros' surprise. Wario then sent Waluigi to attack.
Trivia[]
- The Assist Trophy first appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where Waluigi appeared as one of its summonable characters.
- It is unknown if the Assist Trophy can summon anyone else. It is also unknown if its summoning is limited only to the Super Mario series.
Cape Feather[]

Overview[]
The Cape Feather, or simply Feather, is a white and orange feather which can grant the user the Cape transformation, donning them a yellow and blue cape capable of granting flight.
Appearances in Super Mario Bros. Z[]
The Cape Feather was first used by Mario in battle against Bowser, assuming his Cape Mario transformation immediately after being revived. Mario soon used its power to turn the battle back in his favor.
Mario and Luigi would later use the Feather to reach Yoshi quickly, after Luigi's warning of the dinosaur's separation from him by missiles. The speed of the Feather, despite being able to keep up with Sonic and Shadow's speed, wasn't enough to stop Yoshi's beatdown by Metallix. The brothers then carried the unconscious Yoshi back using the Cape Feather's speed as an advantage.

Dash Pepper[]

Overview[]
The Dash Pepper is a red and orange triangular pepper with a multi-colored leaf, which can grant the user the Dash transformation, giving them an orange hue and the ability to run extremely fast, enabling them to run up steep slopes.

The Dash Pepper was first used by Luigi during the search for the Chaos Emeralds, who gave it to Yoshi to make him run faster so that they could reach the Brute, the car of the Wario Bros. to recover the White Chaos Emerald.

Fire Flower[]

Overview[]
The Fire Flower is a red flower with a green stem and white bud with eyes. The Fire Flower grants the Fire transformation.
Appearances in Super Mario Bros. Z[]
The Fire Flower was first used unwittingly by Waluigi, having been thrown at him by Wario. Waluigi used its powers in conjunction with Wario's Wario Waft to create a devastating attack on Mario.
Mario later used a Fire Flower to battle Bowser after the latter began to utilize his fire breath.

Hammer[]

Overview[]
An Ultra Hammer, also known simply as a Hammer, are a pair of large, golden hammers. They are used as a cudgel weapon. They are owned by Mario and Luigi, and were created by the Hammerhead Bros..
Appearances in Super Mario Bros. Z[]
The Hammers were first seen when Luigi entered the arena to assist Mario against the Wario Bros., arming both himself and Mario with one. Mario later used his hammer in battle against Bowser. Ultimately, the hammer proved ineffective and also planted Mario into the ground after hitting Metal Bowser.
Luigi would later use his Ultra Hammer to reflect Bob-ombs back at the Brute, the Wario Bros.'s car, in an attempt to reclaim the White Chaos Emerald that had been stolen by them.

- The Hammers used by Mario and Luigi were first seen in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, where they were created by the Hammerhead Bros., Sledge and Mallet. The Hammerhead Bros. later upgraded them into the Ultra Hammers that Mario and Luigi currently use.
Home-Run Bat[]

Overview[]
The Home-Run Bat is a sturdy, black and yellow baseball bat. It can also be used as a cudgel.
Appearances in Super Mario Bros. Z[]
A Home-Run Bat was first used by Mario, who intended to use it as a weapon against Wario, but was forced to use it to jam open Wario's mouth to stop his chomping attack. Wario forcibly bit down on it in a bid to remove it, breaking it in two.

- The Home-Run Bat first appeared in Super Smash Bros., but its black and yellow design comes from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS. In the Super Smash Bros. games, it is known for its One-Hit KO potential.
Metal Mushroom[]

Overview[]
The Metal Mushroom is a metallic mushroom with spots and a pair of flat eyes. Upon consumption, the Metal Mushroom grants the consumer the Metal transformation, giving them a metallic exoskeleton that greatly increases their offensive and defensive capabilities.
Appearances in Super Mario Bros. Z[]
The Metal Mushroom was conjured up by Kamek for Bowser to use. After devouring it, Bowser transformed into Metal Bowser.
Trivia[]
- The Metal Mushroom was a custom power-up created by Mark Haynes. However, it may have been inspired by the Metal Mushroom Orb from Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7 and can also be seen as a counterpart to the Metal Box from Super Mario 64.

Overview[]
The Super Star , also known as an Invincible Star, Starman, or simply a Star, is a small, golden star with black eyes. When the user absorbs its power they become impervious to any damage for a short time.
Appearances in Super Mario Bros. Z[]
A Starman was first used by Mario. Luigi threw the Starman at Mario to stop him from being burned to a crisp by Wario's combo fireball waft attack. As the crowd looked on, it appeared Mario had lost, only to see the Starman had saved him, much to the crowds' amazement. In response, Wario became infuriated that Mario had cheated, and attacked him.
