The Pesky Plumber Pursue Pummel and Pulverize Patrol also known as the P.P.P.P.P.P., or P.P.P.P.P. Patrol are an elite team created by Bowser who use the power of Ztars, in order to match Mario's new power, Super Star Mario, granted by the Star Rod. They are set to appear at some point during the Smithy Saga. The members consist of Captain Basilisx, a Clubba, and a Duplighost

• Described as a new "Elite Trio", it is possibly a team to replace the existing group, consisting of Private Goomp, Corporal Paraplonk and Sergeant Guy, which first appeared in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
• The P.P.P.P.P. Patrol (Pesky Plumber Pursue Pummel and Pulverize Patrol) is a nod to the S.S.S.S.S. Squad (Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad), from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog series.
• Mark Haynes cited Sonic Heroes as an inspiration for the number of members on the team.
• Haynes originally intended to have a female Koopa Paratroopa or Lakitu as a member of the team but ultimately settled on a Duplighost.
