The Metallix Saga is the first saga of the Super Mario Bros. Z series. It follows the events of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Sonic and Shadow as they try to acquire all the Chaos Emeralds before Metallix.

Synopsis

Metal Sonic has gone rogue, turning against his creator, Doctor Eggman. He has fused himself with older Sonic robots to become a new super robot called Metallix. Hopelessly outmatched by this new tyrant, Sonic the Hedgehog watches as Shadow the Hedgehog makes a desperate move, using Chaos Control to teleport all the Chaos Emeralds to an alternate universe—Mario's World. The Chaos Emeralds are scattered throughout the Mushroom Kingdom, and now, the combined forces of Mario, Luigi, Sonic, Shadow, and Yoshi must find them before Metallix can collect them to achieve perfection. Meanwhile, Bowser continues his attempts at conquering the Mushroom Kingdom, Wario and Waluigi seek a heavy profit, and enemies far and wide pursue the Chaos Emeralds’ incredible powers for their own twisted designs.
