- Axem Red made his debut in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
- Axem Red's sprites are edits of Captain Jose from the arcade game, Ninja Baseball Bat Man. Haynes also assisted in ripping the sprites from the game alongside Tonberry2k.
- Axem Red was originally planned to have a ponytail akin to that of Zero from the Mega Man X series, similar to his 2006 series counterpart. [1]
